Policy Statement

{{company_name}} is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors, in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Management: Provide safe systems of work, equipment, and training
  • Supervisors: Enforce safe work practices and report hazards
  • Employees: Follow safe work procedures and use protective equipment
  • Safety Representatives: Inspect the workplace and investigate incidents

Risk Assessment

Risk assessments must be conducted annually and whenever a new process, equipment, or substance is introduced. Identified hazards must be eliminated where possible or controlled through engineering, administrative, or PPE measures.

Incident Reporting

  1. Report any injury, illness, or near-miss to your supervisor immediately
  2. Complete the Incident Report Form within 24 hours
  3. Cooperate fully with any investigation
  4. Attend all required medical examinations

Training

All employees will receive induction OHS training and annual refresher courses. High-risk roles require specialised certification before performing the work.

Scope

  4. Confidential medical records are stored separately from personnel files.

Confidentiality of Health Data

Health information is processed only on a legitimate basis under applicable data protection law. Access is restricted to authorized health and HR personnel, and disclosure to managers is limited to fitness-for-work conclusions.
