Job Summary

The Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that the company adheres to all applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, and procedures. This role involves developing, reviewing, and updating compliance policies, conducting risk assessments, monitoring compliance activities, and providing training to employees on regulatory matters.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures in line with relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., FICA, POPIA, FAIS, King IV).

Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate identified risks.

Monitor changes in regulatory landscapes and update internal policies and procedures accordingly.

Provide advice and guidance to management and employees on compliance matters.

Develop and deliver compliance training programs for all staff.

Investigate and report on compliance breaches and implement corrective actions.

Serve as the primary contact for regulatory bodies and external auditors on compliance issues.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance records and documentation.

Prepare and submit compliance reports to senior management and regulatory authorities as required.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Law, Commerce, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CAMS, CFE) is preferred.
