Job Summary
The Electrical Drafter will be responsible for preparing detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and diagrams using CAD software, in accordance with project specifications and relevant Southern African industrial standards. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and prepare electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and other detailed electrical drawings from engineering sketches, specifications, and red-line markups using {{CAD_software_name}}.
2. Ensure all drawings comply with relevant industry standards, local regulations (e.g., SANS standards), and project-specific requirements.
3. Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to interpret design requirements and ensure accuracy of drawings.
4. Review and incorporate changes and revisions into existing drawings promptly and accurately.
5. Maintain an organised system for storing and retrieving drawing files and project documentation.
6. Assist in calculating and specifying materials, equipment, and components required for electrical installations.
7. Conduct site visits when necessary to verify existing conditions or gather information for drawing updates.
Qualifications
1. National Diploma or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
2. Proven experience (minimum {{years_of_experience}} years) as an Electrical Drafter, preferably in a {{relevant_industry_sector}} environment.
3. Proficiency in {{CAD_software_name}} (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical).

Reporting and Relationships

Working Conditions
Primarily office-based work with occasional site visits.
