Job Summary:

The Urban and Regional Planner will be responsible for developing and implementing land use plans, zoning ordinances, and urban development projects. Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct research and analysis on demographics, land use, environmental factors, and socio-economic trends to inform planning decisions.

• Prepare and present planning reports, maps, and other graphic materials to stakeholders, including government officials, community groups, and the public.

• Develop and revise comprehensive land use plans, zoning regulations, and urban design guidelines.

• Facilitate public meetings, workshops, and community engagement activities to gather input and build consensus on planning initiatives.

• Evaluate development proposals and applications for consistency with adopted plans and ordinances, making recommendations for approval or denial.

• Collaborate with engineers, architects, environmental scientists, and other professionals on interdisciplinary projects.

• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of planning programs and policies, recommending adjustments as needed.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant local, provincial, and national planning legislation and environmental regulations.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Regional Planning, City Planning, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
