Educators must maintain professional boundaries and avoid any exploitation, harassment, or discrimination of students.

Professional Conduct and Integrity

Educators are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional conduct, integrity, and honesty in all their interactions. This includes fulfilling professional responsibilities diligently, maintaining confidentiality, and demonstrating respect for colleagues, parents, and the wider community. Educators should avoid conflicts of interest and disclose any potential conflicts promptly.

Relationship with Colleagues and Staff

Educators shall treat colleagues and support staff with respect, courtesy, and professionalism. Collaboration, open communication, and mutual support are encouraged. Disruptive or disrespectful behavior, gossip, or undermining of colleagues is unacceptable.

Use of Resources and Technology

Educators are responsible for the appropriate and ethical use of all school resources, including technology and intellectual property. Personal use of school resources should be minimal and not interfere with professional duties. All digital communications and online activities must align with professional standards and organizational policies.

Confidentiality and Privacy

Educators must respect the confidentiality and privacy of student information, educational records, and sensitive institutional data. Disclosure of such information is only permissible with appropriate consent or as required by law. Adherence to data protection regulations, such as the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) in South Africa, is mandatory.
