1. Introduction and Policy Statement
This Construction Safety Plan is developed to ensure the health and safety of all employees, contractors, visitors, and the public on our construction sites. {{company_name}} is committed to providing a safe working environment and will strive to eliminate all foreseeable hazards which may result in personal injury, illness, or property damage. 2. Roles and Responsibilities
**2.1. Management:** Responsible for the overall implementation and enforcement of this safety plan, providing adequate resources, and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
**2.2. Site Supervisor/Foreman:** Responsible for daily safety oversight, conducting site-specific inductions, ensuring correct use of PPE, and reporting all incidents.
**2.3. Employees:** Responsible for adhering to all safety procedures, using provided PPE, reporting hazards and incidents, and participating in safety training.
3. Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Control
Prior to the commencement of any work, a comprehensive hazard identification and risk assessment will be conducted for each task. Control measures will be implemented to eliminate or minimize risks. This will include:
a) Identification of potential hazards (e.g., falls, electrocution, machinery, hazardous substances).
b) Assessment of the likelihood and severity of risks.
c) Implementation of control measures following the hierarchy of control (elimination, substitution, engineering controls, administrative controls, personal protective equipment).
4. Emergency Procedures
Detailed emergency procedures will be established and communicated to all personnel on site. These procedures include:
a) **First Aid:** Designated first aid personnel and first aid stations/kits will be available. In case of injury, contact {{emergency_contact_number}} immediately.
b) **Fire:** Fire extinguishers will be strategically placed. In case of fire, alert colleagues, activate the fire alarm (if available), and evacuate to the designated assembly point at {{assembly_point_location}}.

5. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

c) High-visibility clothing (BS EN ISO 20471:2013 certified or equivalent)
Additional PPE, such as eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, and respiratory protection, will be specified for particular tasks. It is the responsibility of each employee to maintain their PPE in good condition and report any damage or defects.
6. Site Rules and Access Control
All visitors and contractors must report to the site office upon arrival and obtain a visitor’s pass. Access to restricted areas is strictly prohibited without authorization. Site rules include (but are not limited to):
a) No unauthorized entry.
b) All personnel must undergo site induction.
c) No alcohol or illegal drugs allowed on site.
d) Respect of exclusion zones and signage.
7. Incident Reporting and Investigation
All accidents, incidents, near misses, and dangerous occurrences, no matter how minor, must be reported immediately to the Site Supervisor/Foreman. A thorough investigation will be conducted to determine the root cause and implement preventative measures to avoid recurrence. 8. Training and Competence
All employees will receive appropriate safety training relevant to their tasks. This includes general site induction, task-specific training, and refresher courses. Records of all training undertaken will be maintained.

a) General site safety induction.

d) Operation of plant and machinery.
e) Use of hazardous substances (COSHH).
9. Review and Revision of Plan
This Construction Safety Plan will be reviewed annually or whenever there are significant changes to site conditions, legislation, or work practices. Any revisions will be communicated to all relevant personnel.
