1. Introduction and Policy Statement

This Employment Relations Policy (

) sets out the principles and procedures for managing employee relations within {{company_name}}. Our commitment is to foster a fair, respectful, and productive work environment for all employees. 2. Scope and Application

4. Employee Rights and Responsibilities

Employees have the right to:

d) Raise grievances and concerns without fear of reprisal.

e) Be informed and consulted on matters affecting their employment.

Employees have the responsibility to:

b) Perform their duties diligently and to the best of their ability.

c) Treat colleagues, management, and clients with respect.

d) Maintain a professional and productive work environment.

e) Report any breaches of this Policy or other workplace misconduct.

5. Management Rights and Responsibilities

Management has the right to:

a) Direct and control the workforce to achieve business objectives.

b) Implement and enforce company policies and procedures.

c) Take disciplinary action where necessary, in accordance with established procedures.

d) Expect employees to adhere to their employment contracts and job descriptions.

Management has the responsibility to:

a) Provide appropriate leadership and guidance to employees.

b) Ensure a safe and healthy working environment.

c) Apply company policies and procedures consistently and fairly.

d) Address employee grievances and concerns promptly and effectively.

e) Foster a positive working relationship with all employees.

6. Dispute Resolution and Grievance Procedure

{{company_name}} is committed to resolving workplace disputes and grievances expeditiously and fairly. Employees who have a grievance should follow the formal grievance procedure outlined below:

a) Step 1: Informal Discussion: The employee should first attempt to resolve the issue informally by discussing it with their immediate supervisor or manager.

b) Step 2: Formal Grievance Submission: If the issue remains unresolved, the employee may submit a formal written grievance to {{HR_department_name}} within {{number_of_days}} working days of the informal discussion, detailing the nature of the grievance and desired resolution.

c) Step 3: Grievance Meeting: A meeting will be scheduled with the employee, their representative (if desired), and a representative from management and/or HR to discuss the grievance. This meeting will be held within {{number_of_days}} working days of receiving the formal grievance.

7. Disciplinary Procedure

Where an employee’s conduct or performance falls below the expected standards, disciplinary action may be taken in accordance with the company’s Disciplinary Code and Procedure. This process aims to be corrective rather than punitive and will include, but not be limited to, issuing verbal warnings, written warnings, final written warnings, and, in severe cases, termination of employment. All disciplinary actions will be fair, consistent, and comply with relevant labour legislation.

8. Policy Review
