Policy Title: Script Development Procedure

Document Number: {{document_number}}

Effective Date: {{effective_date}}

Revision Number: {{revision_number}}

1. Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to establish a clear and consistent process for the development, review, and approval of scripts for all internal and external communications, marketing materials, and other mediums requiring structured dialogue or narration.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all employees, contractors, and third-party vendors involved in the creation of scripts on behalf of {{company_name}}.

3. Definitions

Script: A written text used for broadcast, performance, or internal communication, outlining dialogue, actions, and scene descriptions.

Pitch: A concise presentation of a script idea, including its objective, target audience, and key message.

Draft: An initial version of a script submitted for review.

Final Script: The approved and ready-for-production version of a script.

4. Script Development Process

4.1. Concept and Pitch: Initiate script development by formulating a clear concept. Outline the objective, target audience, key message, and desired outcome. Prepare a brief pitch document for initial review by {{department_head}}.

4.2. Research and Outline: Conduct thorough research to gather necessary information and facts. Develop a detailed outline that structures the script, including main points, narrative flow, and estimated timings.

4.3. First Draft Creation: Write the initial draft of the script, focusing on conveying the message clearly and engagingly. Adhere to company branding guidelines, tone of voice, and any project-specific requirements.

4.4. Internal Review: Submit the first draft to relevant internal stakeholders (e.g., {{reviewer_names}}, {{team_lead}}) for review and feedback. Feedback should focus on content accuracy, clarity, adherence to objectives, and grammatical correctness.

4.5. Revision and Refinement: Incorporate feedback received from internal review. Revise and refine the script, ensuring all comments are addressed and the script meets the desired standards. A revised draft should be submitted for a second round of review if significant changes were made.

4.6. Legal and Compliance Review (if applicable): For scripts containing legal, financial, or regulatory information, submit the revised draft to the legal and compliance department for review and approval.

4.7. Final Approval: Once all revisions are complete and all necessary reviews have been conducted, submit the script to {{approving_authority}} for final approval. No script should proceed to production or dissemination without final approval.

4.8. Archiving: Upon final approval, the final script, along with all previous versions and feedback, should be archived in {{document_storage_location}} for record-keeping and future reference.

5. Roles and Responsibilities

Script Creator: Responsible for developing the script from concept to final draft, incorporating feedback, and ensuring adherence to guidelines.

Reviewers: Responsible for providing constructive feedback on script drafts.

Approving Authority: Responsible for giving final approval for script dissemination or production.

6. Script Format Guidelines

Scripts should be written in a clear and concise manner.
