1. Policy Statement

{{company_name}} is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for all its employees, customers, visitors, and contractors. Workplace violence is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. This policy establishes guidelines for preventing, reporting, and responding to incidents of workplace violence.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all employees, temporary staff, contractors, clients, and visitors who are on company premises or conducting company business. It covers all forms of workplace violence, whether it occurs on company property, at company-sponsored events, or during off-site business activities.

3. Definitions

**Workplace Violence:** Any act or threat of physical violence, harassment, intimidation, or other disruptive behavior that occurs at the workplace. This includes, but is not limited to, assaults, threats, abusive language, property damage, and acts of aggression.

**Harassment:** Unwanted conduct that has the purpose or effect of violating an individual's dignity or creating an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating, or offensive environment.

4. Prohibited Conduct

The following behaviours are strictly prohibited:

a) Physical assaults or threats of physical assault.

b) Intimidation, bullying, or harassment.

c) Verbal abuse, offensive language, or derogatory remarks.

d) Any act that creates a hostile or unsafe working environment.

e) Vandalism or destruction of company property or personal property.

f) Possession of weapons on company premises (unless authorized by law and company policy).

5. Reporting Procedures

Any employee who experiences or witnesses an act of workplace violence, or has a reasonable suspicion that such an act may occur, must report it immediately to their direct supervisor, HR department, or {{designated_person/department}}.

Reports can be made verbally or in writing. All reports will be treated with confidentiality to the extent possible, while still allowing for a thorough investigation.

Employees who make a report in good faith will be protected from retaliation.

6. Investigation and Response

All reported incidents of workplace violence will be thoroughly investigated promptly and impartially. The investigation may include interviewing witnesses, reviewing evidence, and consulting with relevant authorities if necessary.

Appropriate action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation, which may include disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment, or involvement of law enforcement.

7. Training and Awareness
