Job Summary

The School Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting students to and from school and school-related activities. This role requires adherence to all traffic laws and school district policies, ensuring the well-being and safety of all passengers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Safely operate a school bus in accordance with all applicable traffic laws and company policies.

2. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus and report any defects or malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.

3. Maintain a clean and orderly bus interior.

4. Ensure the safety of all students while they are boarding, deboarding, and riding the bus.

5. Adhere to assigned bus routes and schedules.

6. Communicate effectively with students, parents, school staff, and supervisors.

7. Manage student behaviour on the bus in a safe and appropriate manner.

8. Participate in ongoing training and professional development as required.

9. Administer basic first aid in emergencies and complete incident reports as required.

10. Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and student rosters.

Qualifications and Experience

1. Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) for transporting passengers.

3. Clean driving record with no major traffic violations.

4. Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
