Job Summary
The Contract Manager is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of contracts, from negotiation and drafting to execution and termination, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies. This role involves mitigating risks, optimizing contract performance, and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, review, and negotiate various types of contracts, including service agreements, vendor contracts, partnership agreements, and non-disclosure agreements, ensuring favorable terms for the company.
• Monitor contract performance and compliance with contractual obligations, escalating issues as necessary.
• Manage contract renewals, amendments, and terminations, ensuring all processes are followed meticulously.
• Liaise with legal counsel to ensure all contracts adhere to relevant laws and regulations within Southern Africa.
• Maintain a comprehensive contract database and ensure accurate record-keeping.
• Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on contract terms, conditions, and best practices.
• Identify and mitigate contractual risks, and develop strategies to address potential disputes.
• Prepare reports on contract status, key performance indicators, and compliance metrics for management review.
• Collaborate with sales, procurement, and finance departments to align contract strategies with business objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field. A Master's degree or specific certification in contract management (e.g., Paralegal certification) is an advantage.
• Minimum of {{years_experience}} years of proven experience in contract management, preferably within a corporate or legal environment in Southern Africa.
• In-depth knowledge of contract law, regulatory frameworks, and commercial practices relevant to the Southern African business landscape.
