Purpose & Scope

Establish and maintain a workplace where every individual is treated with dignity and respect, free from bullying in any form.

Definitions

TermDefinition
BullyingRepeated, unreasonable behaviour directed at a person or group that creates a risk to health, safety or dignity.
Cyber-BullyingBullying conducted through digital channels including email, chat, social media and video.
Upward BullyingBullying by subordinates against managers, equally prohibited.

Examples (non-exhaustive)

  • Public humiliation
  • Persistent unjustified criticism
  • Exclusion from meetings or decisions
  • Setting impossible deadlines
  • Aggressive emails or messages
  • Spreading malicious rumours

Informal Resolution

Where appropriate and safe, the affected person is encouraged to raise concerns directly with the other party or via a mediator. HR can facilitate.

Formal Process

  1. Submit written complaint to HR.
  2. Investigator appointed within 5 business days.
  3. Investigation completed within {{investigation_sla}} days.
  4. Written outcome with right of appeal.
