Effective Date: {{effective_date}}
Version: {{version_number}}
1. Policy Statement
{{company_name}} is committed to maintaining a workplace free from all forms of unlawful retaliation. This policy applies to all employees, contractors, and individuals performing services for or on behalf of {{company_name}}.
No employee shall be subjected to harassment, intimidation, adverse employment action, or any other form of retaliation for:
a. Reporting in good faith a violation or suspected violation of any company policy, law, or regulation.
b. Participating in an investigation related to such reports.
c. Exercising any right protected by law.
2. Scope
This policy covers retaliation related to, but not limited to, reports concerning harassment, discrimination, ethics violations, health and safety concerns, financial impropriety, and other unlawful or unethical conduct. This protection extends to actions taken in good faith, even if the reported concerns are ultimately unsubstantiated.
3. Prohibited Conduct
Retaliation includes, but is not limited to, any adverse action such as demotion, suspension, termination, reduction in pay or benefits, negative performance appraisals, isolation, threats, or any other action that would discourage a reasonable employee from making a protected report or participating in an investigation.
4. Reporting Procedures
Employees who believe they have been subjected to retaliation, or who observe retaliatory behaviour against others, should immediately report the matter to their direct supervisor, Human Resources Department at {{hr_email}}, or a senior management official.
Reports can be made verbally or in writing and should include details such as the names of individuals involved, dates, times, locations, and specific descriptions of the retaliatory acts.
5. Investigation of Retaliation Complaints
All reports of retaliation will be promptly and thoroughly investigated in a confidential manner, to the extent possible, consistent with a thorough investigation. {{company_name}} will take appropriate corrective action as warranted based on the findings of the investigation.
6. Disciplinary Action
Any employee found to have engaged in retaliation will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment, in accordance with applicable company policies and labour laws.
7. Employee Responsibilities
All employees are responsible for understanding and adhering to this Non-Retaliation Policy. Employees are encouraged to report concerns promptly and to cooperate fully with any investigations.
8. Management Responsibilities
Managers and supervisors have a particular responsibility to ensure compliance with this policy within their teams, to respond appropriately to reports of retaliation, and to foster an environment where employees feel safe to raise concerns without fear of reprisal.
