1. Policy Statement

This Personal Leave Policy outlines the provisions for employees to take time off for personal reasons, ensuring fairness, consistency, and compliance with relevant labour laws.

2. Types of Personal Leave
Personal leave may be granted for a variety of reasons, including but not limited to:
2.1. Ill-health or injury of the employee.
2.2. Ill-health or injury of an immediate family member (spouse, child, parent, grandchild, grandparent, or sibling).
2.3. Bereavement (death of an immediate family member).
2.4. Family responsibility (e.g., attending to a child's birth, urgent family matters).
2.5. Other exceptional personal circumstances, subject to management approval.
3. Eligibility and Accrual

4. Application Procedure

5. Remuneration During Personal Leave

5.2. If an employee exhausts their paid personal leave days, any additional personal leave taken will be unpaid, unless otherwise agreed upon by management in exceptional circumstances.
6. Return to Work
6.1. Employees returning from personal leave due to illness or injury may be required to provide a 'fit for duty' certificate from a medical practitioner, especially if the absence was prolonged or the job involves specific physical demands.
6.2. Employees are expected to communicate their return date to their manager in advance to facilitate appropriate planning.
7. Confidentiality
All information related to an employee's personal leave request will be treated with the utmost confidentiality, in accordance with {{company_name}}'s privacy policy and applicable data protection laws.
8. Policy Review
