Job Summary

The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving a variety of coffee, tea, and other beverages, ensuring high-quality product and excellent customer service. This role requires knowledge of coffee preparation techniques, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, such as coffee, espresso, cappuccino, latte, tea, and other specialty drinks, according to company recipes and quality standards.

Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee-making equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper functioning.

Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, process payments using POS systems, and handle cash and card transactions.

Provide exceptional customer service, engaging with customers in a friendly and professional manner, answering questions, and making recommendations.

Maintain a clean and organised work area, including coffee station, counter, and seating areas.

Monitor and replenish inventory of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies, reporting low stock levels to management.

Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including food hygiene standards.

Assist with opening and closing procedures of the cafe/outlet as required.

Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and a positive working environment.

Qualifications and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience as a barista or in a similar customer service role in a cafe or restaurant environment is preferred ({{years_experience}} years).

Knowledge of various coffee types, brewing methods, and latte art techniques is an advantage.

Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
