Job Summary

The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to patrons, maintaining a clean and organised bar area, and providing excellent customer service. This role requires knowledge of various drink recipes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including cocktails, beers, wines, and spirits, according to established recipes and customer preferences.

Interact with customers, take orders, and provide recommendations on drink selections.

Maintain a clean, organised, and well-stocked bar area, including glassware, spirits, mixers, and garnishes.

Process customer payments accurately using the POS system and handle cash transactions with integrity.

Monitor and manage bar inventory, reporting stock levels and ordering needs to the Bar Manager.

Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, particularly regarding the handling and serving of alcohol.

Verify the age of customers to ensure compliance with legal drinking age requirements.

Handle customer complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner, escalating issues to management when necessary.

Collaborate with other F&B staff to ensure a seamless dining experience for patrons.

Assist with opening and closing procedures of the bar, including cleaning and restocking.

Qualifications and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent; a hospitality qualification or bartending certification is a plus.

Proven knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktail recipes, spirits, wines, and beers.
