Job Summary
The Landscaping and Groundskeeping Worker is responsible for maintaining the aesthetic appeal and health of commercial or residential landscapes. This includes performing a variety of landscaping tasks such as planting, pruning, mowing, fertilizing, and general grounds upkeep. The role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and environmental best practices.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
• Perform routine grounds maintenance, including mowing, edging, weeding, raking, and blowing.
• Plant and maintain flowers, shrubs, trees, and other flora.
• Water and irrigate landscape areas as required, ensuring optimal plant health.
• Prune and trim trees, shrubs, and hedges to maintain desired shapes and promote growth.
• Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides in accordance with safety guidelines and environmental regulations.
• Operate and maintain landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and chainsaws.
• Clear debris, litter, and other waste from grounds and dispose of them properly.
• Conduct minor repairs and maintenance on irrigation systems, pathways, and other landscape features.
• Monitor landscape for pests, diseases, and other issues, reporting findings to the supervisor.
• Assist with seasonal clean-up tasks, including leaf removal and snow/ice management (where applicable).
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with clients, residents, or visitors.
Qualifications

Working Conditions

• Regular lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of equipment and materials.
