JOB SUMMARY

The Lead Cook is responsible for overseeing and participating in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food according to company standards and food safety regulations. This role requires leadership, culinary expertise, and the ability to train and supervise junior kitchen staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Supervise and coordinate the activities of cooks and other kitchen staff.

2. Prepare and cook a variety of dishes following recipes and production schedules.

3. Ensure that all food is prepared and served in a timely manner and meets quality standards.

4. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, and place orders as needed.

5. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.

6. Train and mentor new kitchen staff members.

7. Assist in menu development and recipe testing.

8. Handle food preparation equipment safely and effectively.

9. Adhere to all food handling and hygiene standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts or a related field.
