Job Summary

The Nurse Practitioner will provide primary and specialty healthcare services to patients, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals. This role involves diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions, prescribing medication, and promoting health and wellness within the scope of practice for a Nurse Practitioner in Southern Africa.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive physical assessments and patient histories.

Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., X-rays, blood work).

Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and health conditions.

Prescribe medications and other treatments in accordance with professional regulations and guidelines.

Develop and implement patient-specific care plans.

Provide health education and counseling to patients and their families.

Refer patients to specialists as needed.

Document all patient encounters accurately and in a timely manner.

Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.

Adhere to all legal, ethical, and professional standards of nursing practice.

Qualifications and Experience

Valid registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the relevant nursing council in the Southern African jurisdiction (e.g., SANC in South Africa).

Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing (Nurse Practitioner program).

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (where applicable).
