Job Summary

The Plumber is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial structures. This includes interpreting blueprints, assembling and installing new systems, and troubleshooting and repairing existing ones to ensure proper functionality and compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and components.

Interpret blueprints and schematics to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste disposal systems.

Cut, thread, and bend pipes to required angles and lengths.

Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pumps.

Install and repair hot and cold water systems, drainage pipes, and sewage systems.

Troubleshoot and diagnose plumbing issues, including leaks, blockages, and malfunctions.

Perform routine maintenance on plumbing systems to prevent breakdowns.

Adhere to all safety regulations and building codes.

Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.

Liaise with clients and other professionals to ensure project completion and client satisfaction.

Qualifications and Experience

Valid plumbing qualification/certification (e.g., National Certificate in Plumbing from a recognised institution).
