JOB SUMMARY
The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating a portfolio of related projects, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s strategic objectives. This role involves planning, executing, and closing programs, managing risks, resources, and stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes within budget and schedule constraints. The Program Manager will also be responsible for fostering a collaborative environment, mentoring project managers, and driving continuous improvement in program management practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Program Planning and Execution:
- Define program scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop comprehensive program plans, including detailed budgets, timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Oversee the execution of multiple projects within the program, monitoring progress and ensuring adherence to established plans.
2. Stakeholder Management:
- Identify and engage all relevant stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
- Establish clear communication channels and provide regular updates on program status, risks, and performance.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and address concerns proactively to ensure program success.
3. Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor a team of project managers and other program staff, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Provide guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to team members.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
4. Risk and Issue Management:
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate program risks and issues.
- Develop contingency plans and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Escalate critical risks and issues to senior management in a timely manner.
5. Financial Management:
- Manage program budgets, ensuring expenditures are within approved limits.
- Monitor financial performance, track costs, and report on variances.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies.
6. Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement:
- Establish and maintain program quality standards.
- Conduct post-program reviews to identify lessons learned and best practices.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance program management processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
2. Experience:

WORKING CONDITIONS
