Job Summary
The Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the company's purchasing activities. This includes developing purchasing strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services necessary for business operations. The successful candidate will contribute to optimising inventory levels, reducing costs, and maintaining high-quality standards in line with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop, implement, and manage purchasing strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure efficient and cost-effective procurement.
2. Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, delivery, and service. Establish and maintain strong, ethical relationships with key suppliers.
3. Negotiate favourable terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers to achieve optimal cost savings and value for money.
4. Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and internal needs to ensure continuous improvement in purchasing operations.
5. Manage inventory levels to minimise obsolescence and carrying costs while ensuring availability of critical materials.
6. Collaborate with other departments (e.g., production, finance, sales) to understand their purchasing needs and ensure alignment of procurement activities.
7. Prepare and process purchase orders, requisitions, and other procurement documents accurately and efficiently.
8. Resolve supplier issues, discrepancies, and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
9. Ensure compliance with all relevant purchasing regulations, company policies, and ethical standards.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.

3. Proven track record of successful negotiation and supplier management.
