Job Purpose:

The Wholesale and Retail Buyer is responsible for selecting and purchasing quality products at competitive prices for resale to customers, ensuring inventory levels meet demand while minimizing holding costs. This role involves market research, supplier negotiation, and maintaining strong vendor relationships to achieve sales and profit targets.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Market Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify new products, trends, and opportunities. Analyze sales data, market conditions, and competitor activities to inform purchasing decisions.

2. Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to ensure the best value. Maintain strong relationships with vendors.

3. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and place orders to optimize stock rotation and minimize out-of-stock situations or overstocking.

4. Product Selection and Curation: Select a diverse range of products that align with target customer preferences and company strategy. Ensure product quality and compliance with relevant standards.

5. Cost Management: Work to achieve optimal profit margins by managing purchasing costs, freight charges, and other related expenses.
