Employment Contract

This Employment Contract (“Agreement”) is made and entered into on this {{day}} day of {{month}}, {{year}} (the “Effective Date”), by and between:

{{company_name}}, a company duly registered under the laws of {{country}}, with its principal place of business at {{company_address}} (hereinafter referred to as “the Employer”);

AND

{{employee_full_name}}, residing at {{employee_address}}, with National ID/Passport Number {{employee_id_number}} (hereinafter referred to as “the Employee”).

1. Position and Duties

1.1 The Employer hereby employs the Employee in the position of {{job_title}}.

1.2 The Employee shall report to {{reporting_manager_name}}.

1.3 The Employee shall perform all duties and responsibilities as are customarily associated with the position of {{job_title}}, as well as such other duties as may be assigned by the Employer from time to time, consistent with the Employee’s skills and capabilities. A detailed job description is attached hereto as Schedule A.

2. Commencement and Duration of Employment

2.1 The employment shall commence on {{start_date}}.

2.2 This employment is for an indefinite period / for a fixed term ending on {{end_date}} (delete as applicable).

3. Remuneration

3.1 The Employee’s gross monthly salary shall be {{currency_symbol}}{{salary_amount}} ({{salary_amount_words}}) per month, payable in arrears on the last working day of each month.

3.2 The Employer shall make all statutory deductions from the Employee’s salary as required by the laws of {{country}}, including but not limited to Pay As You Earn (PAYE), National Social Security Fund (NSSF), and National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF).

3.3 The Employee shall be eligible for such bonuses, allowances, and benefits as may be determined by the Employer from time to time, details of which will be communicated separately.

4. Working Hours

4.1 The Employee’s normal working hours shall be from {{start_time}} to {{end_time}}, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour lunch break daily. Total weekly working hours shall not exceed {{total_weekly_hours}} hours.

4.2 The Employee may be required to work additional hours as and when necessary, in accordance with the needs of the business and applicable labour laws. Overtime compensation will be paid as per the laws of {{country}}.

5. Leave

5.1 Annual Leave: The Employee shall be entitled to {{annual_leave_days}} working days of paid annual leave per annum, to be taken at a time mutually agreed upon with the Employer.

5.2 Sick Leave: The Employee shall be entitled to {{sick_leave_days}} days of paid sick leave per annum, upon presentation of a valid medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner.

5.3 Maternity/Paternity Leave: The Employee shall be entitled to maternity/paternity leave in accordance with the applicable labour laws of {{country}}.

6. Confidentiality

6.1 The Employee acknowledges that in the course of their employment, they will have access to confidential information belonging to the Employer. The Employee agrees to keep all such information strictly confidential, both during and after the termination of employment.

7. Termination of Employment

7.1 This Agreement may be terminated by either party giving {{notice_period}} notice in writing to the other party.

7.2 The Employer may terminate this Agreement without notice in instances of gross misconduct in accordance with the labour laws of {{country}}.

8. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

8.1 This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of {{country}}.

8.2 Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of {{country}}.
