Job Summary

The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and meticulous attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage all accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.

2. Prepare financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) relevant to Southern Africa.

3. Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial data is accurate and up-to-date.

4. Assist with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.

5. File tax returns and ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws (e.g., VAT, corporate income tax) applicable in {{country}}.

6. Conduct internal audits and assist with external audits.

7. Process payroll and ensure compliance with labour laws and statutory deductions.

8. Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Qualifications and Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

2. Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA) is highly advantageous.
