Job Summary
The Business Development Director is responsible for driving the company's growth by identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and managing key client relationships. This role requires a visionary leader with a proven track record in market expansion and revenue generation within the Southern African market.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to achieve company objectives and market share growth.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including potential clients, markets, and product/service offerings.
Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships, understanding their needs and offering tailored solutions.
Negotiate and close business deals, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the company.
Lead, mentor, and develop the business development team.
Conduct market research and analysis to stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and potential growth areas.
Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., marketing, sales, product development) to ensure alignment of strategies and successful execution.
Prepare and present regular reports on business development activities, pipeline, and results to senior management.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; a Master's degree is highly desirable.
