Job Summary

The Construction Carpenter will be responsible for performing various carpentry tasks in the construction, alteration, repair, and maintenance of structures, buildings, and other construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of carpentry techniques, safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.

Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials.

Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.

Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.

Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.

Estimate heights, widths, lengths, and other proportions.

Work with other construction trades to ensure project completion.

Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.

Maintain a clean and organised work area.

Qualifications and Experience

Proven experience as a carpenter in a construction setting.

Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship or equivalent training.

Solid knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods.

Proficient in using electrical and manual tools and measurements.

Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.

Good understanding of safety guidelines.

Excellent physical condition and endurance.

High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certification is a plus.

Working Conditions
